about

Hello there! My name is Emily and I'm from a quaint little fishing community in Newfoundland, Canada.

I appreciate my little spot by the sea but ever since my first plane ride as a teen to join the Encounters with Canada program, I have been seeking out opportunities to travel and meet new people in this great big world.

Travel wasn't originally my goal; I just knew I loved working with kids and kept meeting people with similar interests, inevitably inspiring me to find jobs in interesting places.

I got my start working as a summer camp counsellor for several years, with a couple of summers in Newfoundland and four in North Carolina. After graduating university I worked as a Youth Activities Counselor/Trainer for three years with Disney Cruise Line. Still wanting to travel but in a more "settled" environment led me to teach English in Yeosu, South Korea for a little over two years and I fell in love with their culture. All of these experiences hold special places in my heart.

Currently, I'm back in Canada with a whole new appreciation for this place I call home.

I also enjoy matcha lattes, Netflix marathons, snail mail, and important things like hugs (which aren't always freely given in other parts of the world!)

I like taking pictures of the places I go and sometimes I like writing about them, too. So I invite you to come along with me!

Thanks so much for reading!
